How to Serve All Souls

What can I give?  How can I help?

SOUND ASSISTANT: If you have experience patching and running a sound board and can help with worship once or twice a month, our sound engineer, Neville, needs your help asap! Please contact Travetta Johnson .

HELP RUN LIGHTS: We are in need of one more person willing to be trained to run the lights for worship on Sunday nights who would then be willing to serve once a month on a rotational "lighting team." (It's kinda fun!) If you are interested, please contact Travetta Johnson .

DRUMMER NEEDED: We are in need of a good drummer to sub in on the worship team for a few weeks this summer. If you are interested, please contact Travetta Johnson

img_5195.jpg Worship is an active response to God that is both personal and corporate.

Personally, worship is part of the daily lifestyle of following Christ. It is the ongoing "sacred conversation" of a holy relationship. It is my personal response to God as He reveals truth about Himself to my heart from day to day.

Corporately, as the church, we set aside time to come together weekly to worship God in a more focused and ordered manner; to "make a pilgrimage" to the throne of God very much like the pilgrimage described in Old Testament times, both in the Tabernacle and the Temple, and later in the early church.

  • Worship is the life-source of the Christian life.
  • Worship is what reminds us of what is true.
  • Worship is coming together to seek God, and then being sent back out into the world to seek its peace.
  • Worship is a pilgrimage from the "outer gates of the temple" towards "the Holy of Holies," the very presence of God.
  • Worship cleanses us, renews us, heals us, and prepares us to go back out into the city.
